What to wear to Street Parade

The parade's spirit of love, peace, freedom and tolerance shows up in the crowd as much as in the music. Think neon, glitter and colour: rave sets in holographic or neon fabric, rhinestone bodysuits that catch the summer sun, and body jewellery layered over a bikini or bodysuit. Street Parade takes place in August, so light, breathable pieces work best during the day.

Comfort for a full day on your feet

With no barriers and no fixed stage, you'll walk and dance along the whole route for hours. Choose stretch pieces that move with you, comfortable platform boots you've already broken in, and festival sunglasses for the afternoon sun. Keep your essentials close in a small festival bag, and bring a light layer for the evening by the lake.

Four looks that work at Street Parade: a neon rave set with fishnet tights and platform boots; a rhinestone bodysuit with denim shorts and a body chain; a holographic two-piece with matching goggles and gloves; or a fringe set that moves with every beat of the Love Mobiles. Groups often coordinate their outfits in one colour or theme, which makes it easier to find each other in the crowd and looks great in photos. Keep accessories light, as you'll be dancing in the sun for hours. After the parade, many people head on to the official afterparties, so a light jacket or faux fur jacket in your bag is a good idea.
